Very clean, comfortable and warm. Spacious room with en suite wet room: use of large conservatory with terrific views. Helpful, friendly and approachable host and hostess. Relaxed atmosphere. Safe and extensive area for children to play. A remote location - 2-3 miles to Castle Douglas for evening meal, so car essential.

A splendid spot
We stayed in the old station house for 3 nights. The welcome was warm and friendly and the accommodation extremely comfortable. The setting is great, with the opportunity to use the sun lounge in the evenings. Breakfasts were a highlight!

Friendly personal service and good food
We stayed at The Old Station whilst touring in the area. The owners gave us a warm welcome and our room was well furnished and comfortable. The full Scottish Breakfast was excellent.
We viewed the railway carriage and it would be excellent for a family stay.
We will certainly stay again when we are next in the area.

An excellent B&B with owners really committed to the customer experience
Last minute booking for business stop over, nothing was too much trouble even arriving late I was warmly welcomed and shown to my very well appointed room and slept well in comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and service just right in the residents conservatory perched out over the old railway line. Thank goodness the trains have stopped!!! I will be back again next time to try out the railway carriage rooms which are a real stoke of genius. I am sure before long the owners will be set up to accept credit cards but until then make sure you have cash or a cheque book......if you know where you left it!!!
